AP Pension's newly built headquarters was designed with one clear objective: to foster openness, and transparency in a workplace tailored to support the well-being of employees. PLH Arkitekter took on the task of designing both the architecture and interiors, resulting in an inspiring and contemporary atmosphere.
Three distinctive flooring styles in solid oak
A central design element is the use of Junckers’ solid hardwood floors, chosen for their natural elegance, durability, and ability to complement the building’s open architectural language. Across the interior, three distinct floor patterns in solid oak have been used to define zones and support the building’s visual identity.
In lounge and common areas, Hexparket in Oak creates a sculptural effect with a subtle three-dimensional quality that adds rhythm and textue to the space. In contrast, Twin Herringbone laid in a classic Square Basket pattern introduces a timeless expression with refined detail and historic reference. Meanwhile, Oak Planks offer a calm, continuous flow along corridors and in open spaces.
Junckers' flooring was selected not only for its aesthetic contribution, but also for its sustainable credentials. As a durable, natural material, solid wood contributes to a healthy indoor climate while reinforcing the building’s long-term environmental ambitions.
A sustainable workplace for the future
Sustainability has been integral to the project from the outset. AP Pension’s headquarters is expected to achieve DGNB Gold for overall sustainability performance and the prestigious DGNB Diamond certification for architectural quality.
